Rating: 8,3/10 (228 votes)  Yeni Jami Mosque (New Mosque) is one of the largest mosques in Istanbul and is located in the old part of the city, near the Galata Bridge. The construction of the mosque was completed in 1663 by the famous architect Mustafa Agha. The diameter of the dome of the Yeni-Jami mosque is seventeen and a half meters, the height of the dome is – thirty six meters. The mosque has two minarets. In front of the mosque there is a small courtyard with a gallery covered with twenty-four domes. The interior of the mosque impresses with its illumination, the floor of the temple is covered with carpets.
