Rating: 8,4/10 (200 votes) Leeds City Hall is the civil building of the Leeds City Council. The town hall is located on Millennium Square.
The town hall was designed by Vincent Harris, who won the corresponding competition. The competition was held in 1926, construction began in 1931, and was completed by 1933. In August 1933, the main hall of the town hall was opened by George V. The town hall was built during the Great Depression, and the construction was used, among other things, to create jobs.
In the building of the city hall there are premises equipped for offices, living rooms for Lord Mayors, a banquet hall, and council chambers. The town hall hosts concerts and various events, for which the halls are also equipped.
