Friedrich Wilhelm IV gave the decree for the construction of the Orangery Palace in his residence, the construction itself was carried out in 1851-1864 on the northern edge of San -Sushi. Friedrich August Stuhler and Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse became the architects who took on this project. Inside the building were luxurious greenhouses with a variety of exotic plants. The building was supposed to be part of Triumfalnaya Street. inside the Sanssouci park, but these plans never materialized.

The most elegant building of the palace stretches for 300 meters and is abundantly decorated with statues. Today, inside, on the site of the apartments for the royal guests, a museum is organized, where you can see many wonderful works of art. For example, an entire hall is set aside for copies of Raphael's works.

The Orangery Palace was lucky: the wars did not damage it too much, moreover, it was thoroughly restored. The spacious greenhouses today serve as a wintering place for heat-loving plants from the Sanssouci Park. In the palace gardens, residents of Potsdam are very fond of spending their free time.
