You can get to the territory of the castle only by driving over a stone bridge. The castle has a beautiful English park with old trees, its area is about 2500 square meters. The first mention of the castle dates back to the 12th century, but in the entire history of its existence it was rebuilt many times, in accordance with the era and preferences of the new owners. Since 1505, Pottenbrunn Castle belongs to Sebastian Grabner, who built a Romanesque tower with an open arched gallery, which has survived to this day. In 1600, an English-style garden was founded by Anton Perger, which appears before us today in all its charm. During the Second World War, the castle was badly damaged, but 20 years later it was completely restored in a medieval style. In 2005 the castle was completely renovated: the damaged roofs were replaced, the bridge, facade and windows of the building were restored, the stairs in the courtyard were restored. Having visited this wonderful palace, you will see an elegant building with narrow arched galleries, tall towers crowned with domes and a magnificent picturesque garden with century-old trees. Pottenbrunn Castle displays a rich and interesting collection of medieval cups. The castle is currently closed to tourists.
