Via Montenapoleone is one of the city's central streets, running through the Fashion District. Along the street are numerous boutiques of famous high fashion houses. It is the most expensive street in Italy and one of the most expensive in the world.

In V – IV centuries BC on the place where the street passes today, there was a moat that surrounded the walls of Mediolan. Later, the monastery quarter was located here, where the nuns of the Benedictine order, Ursulina and Augustine lived. In the 18th century, the spiritual orders were abolished by Emperor Joseph II, and the houses of wealthy citizens were erected on the site of the monastery buildings. During the reign of Napoleon, the street got its current name.

In the 20th century, Milan is becoming the new capital of fashion. Famous fashion designers begin to settle in the buildings on Via Montenapoleone.

Montenapoleone Street is 500 meters long, has one-way traffic, and sidewalks are located on both sides. Most of the buildings on the street were built in the neoclassical style in the 19th century.

The boutiques on Montenapoleone have such famous brands as Versace, Omega, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Valentino and others.
