Rating: 8,3/10 (3493 votes)  West of the Cathedral, in Plaza del Mercado, is the Silk Exchange. Previously, Valenian silk, known throughout Europe, was made here. This building, built in 1498, is in the late Gothic style. It was erected on the site where the Moorish church used to stand. The building is adorned with decorated windows, gates and gargoyle-shaped gutters. The main hall of the building is decorated with a star-shaped vault supported by twisted columns. There are 144 steps leading up from the tower, offering a wonderful view of the city.
