After the Hussite wars in the 15th century, the old church was completely rebuilt into a standard two-nave church. During the Middle Ages, the interior of the church was decorated with wall paintings, which have been partially preserved to our time. According to sources, the construction of the former church took place in 1273. A hundred years later, the church was destroyed during a fire, along with residential bourgeois houses. In 1417 a new church was built in the city, which was destroyed during the Hussite wars. In the 15th century, after the reconstruction work, services were started here again. Subsequently, new extensions were added to the building. In 1892, the temple was regotized, after which it acquired its present appearance. The tower of the church reaches a height of 63 meters; earlier it was also used for housing. Today it houses the Jacob bells, cast in 1603, and the Maria bells, dating from 1550. In the 18th century, a meteorological station was established on the church tower. The pseudo-Gothic altar in the church was created in 1879. The largest organ in the city, located on the choir of the temple, was built in 1725. The tower on the ground floor features a well-preserved vaulted sacristy dating from the 16th century.
