The Church of St. Thomas was erected in 1727-1731 on the site of an old Gothic church built in the 14th century, which was destroyed during the Hussite wars. The author of the project was the architect K.I. Dizengofer.

The interior of the church, like the building itself, was made in the Baroque style. The frescoes containing scenes from the lives of St. Augustus and St. Thomas were created by the painter Rainer. The paintings near the altar are copies of paintings by Rubens – Saint Augustine and The Murder of Saint Thomas, which were painted in 1637 by the artist Antwerp.
