Rating: 8,0/10 (613 votes)  The Temple of Caesar, located at the Roman Forum, was built in honor of Gaius Julius Caesar – famous commander, dictator and writer. The temple is located in the southeast of the forum, in the place where in 44 BC. the body of Caesar, who was killed in a conspiracy by a group of senators, was burned. The temple was erected in 42 BC, the solemn consecration took place only in 29 BC. The appearance of the temple was restored from the images on the coins. There is a rounded altar on the podium of the temple. Only part of the podium has survived to this day.
