The Chittagong Ethnological Museum is located on the busy shopping street Agrabad. This is the only ethnological museum that provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the way of life and the heritage of various peoples of the country. It was founded in 1965.

The museum has collected rare items used in the daily life of various national communities in Bangladesh, some of which have already disappeared, and some are on the verge of extinction. The museum has four galleries and a small hall. The museum's three galleries display various artifacts from the 25 ethnic groups of Bangladesh. The last gallery displays the lifestyle of some racial groups from India, Pakistan and Australia.

The sculptures of people and murals in the halls give an insight into the lifestyle and culture of the indigenous people of the country, about various folk holidays. The exhibits include weapons, vases, woven goods, clothing, boats, scissors, bamboo pipes, wooden shelves and jewelry. Visitors can view the paintings, models, maps, photographs presented here. There is an explanatory stand next to each item giving complete information for tourists.

Every day the Ethnological Museum of Chittagong receives from 200 to 300 people, it is a symbol of the relationship between the past and the future of the country, mutual understanding and tolerance of completely different people living nearby.
