Description, photographs and a map showing the nearest significant objects. The title in English is Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh House. Photo and descriptionThe Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is one of the main attractions of Hanoi. On weekends, there is a large queue of people wishing to visit the resting place of the leader of the Vietnamese people. The massive structure of gray stone, dominating Badinh Square, was built in 1973 on the site of the festive tribune, from where the president welcomed the festive demonstrations. On the pediment of the Mausoleum are inscribed the words “Tyu Tit Ho Chi Minh”, which means “President Ho Chi Minh”. Inside the Mausoleum, in a glass sarcophagus, rests Ho Chi Minh's body, dressed in a faded khaki suit and simple slippers. In 1958, Ho Chi Minh built his house, refusing an offer to settle in a luxurious palace. This house was built on stilts of lacquered and polished wood and furnished very modestly. Now a museum is open here. On the first floor of the house, you can see the hall where the Politburo meetings were held, and on the second - Ho Chi Minh's bedroom and private office.
