Museum of Islamic Art in Egypt, Cairo Resort
Rating: 7,5/10 (141 votes)  This museum – the very first and largest museum in Egypt dedicated to Islamic art. It is located on Port Said Street in Cairo, and is one of the most visited museums in all of Egypt. The museum houses a huge collection of Islamic cultural values – there are just over 60 000 different works of art. Here are collected such exhibits as carved headstones made of stones, jewelry with precious stones from gold and silver, chasing, wood carving, ceramics, weapons, fabrics and other items that help to understand the history of the Muslim world. В the museum exhibits famous miniatures that were made during the Fatimid era. These miniatures are quite peculiar, which proves that already in the 10-12 centuries AD. in Egypt existed its own, and a fairly independent school of miniature painting. The museum's exposition also contains a wonderful wall painting, which depicts people in lancet framing. The painting was found in 1932, during excavations. The painting is done in light colors and in a flat manner, the outlines of people are depicted with a free wide line.
