On the sides of the arched opening there are pilasters, which are crowned with capitals of the Corinthian order. The corners of the arch are decorated with the same pilasters, but higher. The arch itself is crowned by a composition of pilasters and Corinthian columns, which are supported by Ionic architrave. The arch was entirely erected from Pentelikon marble, which was quarried from the nearby Pentelikon mountain. We also recommend reading Antalya.
