Zeyrek Mosque in Turkey, Istanbul resort
Rating: 7,6/10 (100 votes)  Zeyrek Mosque (formerly the church of the Monastery of Christ the Almighty) is located near Halich Bay, in Istanbul's Fatih district. The mosque has not been preserved to this day, part of it is in ruins. The name of the mosque goes back to the name of Zeyrek Mehmet Efendi's malla. The building of the temple, the construction of which dates back to the period of the Byzantine Empire, was restored in the XIII century. The Zeyrek Mosque has one minaret and five domes and is built of bricks. The design of the mosque contains elements of the baroque style.
