Rating: 7,5/10 (301 votes)  New Town Hall – the city hall in Munich, located on the central square of the city of Marienplatz. Built in the neighborhood of the Old Town Hall in 1876. The City Council, which moved to the New Town Hall even before the completion of construction work, sits there today. The town hall building was completed until 1909. The result of such colossal work was a beautiful building in the neo-Gothic style with a total area of rooms of more than 9000 sq.m. The town hall tower is 85 meters high. For tourists who love to visit the town hall, especially the glockenspiel, created in 1908, there is an elevator. The facade of the New Town Hall is lavishly decorated with sculptural images of Bavarian dukes, electors and kings, mythological characters, and gutters are made in the form of mythological creatures. The tower of the New Town Hall is crowned with the famous striking clock. Every day they strike at 11 o'clock in the morning, while on the two upper tiers there is a small performance: on the upper tier, with copper figures, a knightly tournament of 1568 is depicted, arranged in honor of the marriage of Duke William V and the Princess of Lorraine, and on the lower tier - and ndash; the figures of the bochars, freed from the plague epidemic of 1515-1517, are circling in the dance.
