Red City Hall – red brick building in the center of Berlin. The town hall was built in 1861-1869. designed by G.F.Weseman. The town hall is a high (74 meters) quadrangular tower in a mixed style, combining the features of the Renaissance and the Gothic, created in the image of the towers of the Lansky Cathedral. The building was badly damaged during the Second World War , restoration work, which made changes to the interior, was completed by 1958. On the first floor of the Town Hall, the Column and Armorial Halls are located, performing representative functions. Since 1958, the magistrate of East Berlin has been located here, since 1991 – seat of the government of the united Berlin.
