The Sibelius House-Museum is a small mansion in the city center, where the famous Finnish composer Jan Sibelius was born, turned into a cozy house-museum. This Empire style house belonged to the composer's grandmother.

Even today the music that made Jan Sibelius famous throughout the world sounds in the house. Largely thanks to Sibelius, the world learned about the small northern country of Finland. The composer spent the first twenty years of his life in Hameenlinna and wrote his early works. In his honor, the city not only created a museum, but also named a street, created a personal park and a bronze monument.

The exposition of the house-museum tells about different periods of Sibelius's life and work through music, photographs and other exhibits. In addition, the original furnishings are preserved inside the house, and the composer's personal belongings are kept. Museum visitors have the opportunity to see the early years of Jan Sibelius. In the living room of the house, you can relax and unwind while listening to the composer's music from the speakers.
