Forum Marinum was established in 1977 and is located in former warehouse premises of the cooperative partnership on the banks of the Aura River. IN In 1999, this museum was merged with museified vessels, exhibited since 1936. These ships belonged to the Department of Maritime History Abo Academy. The museum quickly became famous, and by 2006 it became the eighth most popular tourist attraction in southwestern Finland. In June 2013, in connection with the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of the twinning connections between the cities of Turku and St. Petersburg, the President of Finland visited the museum Sauli Niinisto and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
