For this purpose, an architectural competition was held, in which the architects Robert Couriel and Karl Moser won. Having received the construction contract, they immediately began to build the temple. The inauguration of the church took place in October 1900. In 1942, the church bells, like most bells in Germany, were melted down for armament. During the war, the church was seriously damaged, with particular damage to the windows, arch of the main entrance and vaulted ceilings. At the end of the war, a number of restoration works were carried out in the church. A concert organ, created in 1966 by the Johannes Clay company, was added to the interior. In 1985-1988, the original temple spire was completely restored. We also recommend reading Karlsburg Castle in Germany, Karlsruhe Resort Topic: Christ Church in Karlsruhe in Germany, Karlsruhe spa. |
