The Karlsruhe Pyramid is a stone pyramid located on the city's market square. Today the pyramid is one of the symbols of Karlsruhe. This interesting structure was erected in 1823 from sandstone. Friedrich Weinbrenner became the author of the project. The pyramid was built over the tomb of Charles the Third Wilhelm. Until 1807, the remains of the Margrave rested in the Basilica of Concordia, located on this site. Subsequently, the basilica was demolished, and a temporary wooden pyramid was erected in its place. Since 1940, the pyramid has been the property of the city authorities, but you can enter it only with special permission.
