Concert Hall – neoclassical building located in the very center of Berlin on Gendarmenmarkt. Originally a Berlin Drama Theater, Karl Friedrich Schinkel's Concert Hall was erected in 1818 - 1821

Before the construction of the modern building, it housed the National Theater, built by Karl Gottgard Langgans and burnt down in 1817 ... The theater was opened in the summer of 1821 with Karl Weber's opera The Magic Shooter.

The Concert Hall is considered the best building designed by Karl Schinkel. The building from all sides, inside and outside, is decorated with sculptures of composers, famous and not so famous, mythological characters (Tantalus, Eros, Psyche, Orpheus, Eurydice, Dionysus, Ariadne and others) The sculptures were made by Balthasar Jacob Rathgeber and Christian Friedrich Tieck.

During the Second World War, the external walls of the theater were burnt. The building was renovated by 1984. Since 1992, the Concert Hall has been home to the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, which changed its name to the Konzerthaus Orchestra in 2006.
