Rating: 7,7/10 (150 votes) San Salvi is a basilica built by monks of the Benedictine Vallombrosian order in the 11th century as part of the monastery complex. Abbot of the church at the end of the 11th century Saint Bernardo degli Uberti. In the first half of the 16th century, the temple was badly destroyed as a result of the siege of Florence, but later it was reconstructed in the original style, except for the portico, which was restored in the 16th century.
