The idea of building this church was carried out in the 15th century according to Brunelleschi's plan. He wanted to make the Church of the Holy Spirit `` face '' to the Arno River, but his idea was impossible, since this was prevented by dense residential development between the bank and the church. The main attraction of this church is – interior of clean proportions and unique color schemes. The church houses famous cultural monuments such as – The Expulsion of the Merchants from the Temple Mannerist works by Stradano, Madonna and Child with Saints by Filippino Lippi. The architectural ensemble of the temple consists of two cloisters, the vestibule of Kronaki and the octagonal sacristy by Giuliano da Sangallo. On the left side of the entrance to the temple is the Romano Foundation Museum, which houses the Last Supper. by Orcagna. The Basilica of San Spirito, along with other landmarks in the historic center of Florence, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
