The New Palace, located next to the Old Castle in central Stuttgart, is the residence of the Wurttemberg kings and dukes.

In 1737, Karl Eugen, becoming the new Duke of the Wurttemberg lands, demanded that the city build a new residence for him. The construction of the palace began in 1746, and ended only in 1807, after the death of Charles. Until 1918, the halls and rooms of the castle continued to be redesigned until the castle became city property. In those days, a museum was set up here, which kept items from the prince's treasury and a collection of majolica.

During the Second World War, the building was seriously damaged. In 1957 it was decided to restore the palace.
