Rating: 9,1/10 (1454 votes)

The Cathedral of Chartres is one of the most famous Gothic temples in the world.

UNESCO in 1979 included it in its World Heritage List .

The cathedral was under construction for several centuries, survived a series of fires, but was still completed by the 13th century. Since that moment, it has not been destroyed, has never been attacked, robbed and other misfortunes. This is a unique case for European history.
