Medieval tower Borj er-Ras in Tunisia, resort of Mahdia
Rating: 8,2/10 (3002 votes)  The medieval Borj er-Ras tower was erected in the 16th century on Cape Africa. The facade of the tower is decorated with an image of a lion (mosaic) and an inscription that says that the tower was built with the help of Allah and the efforts of Abu Abdullah Muhammad Pasha. During the French domination, the tower acted as a prison, and it is now a historical monument for the entertainment of tourists. This tower overlooks the Punic cemetery that stretches to the end of the promontory.
