Rating: 8,5/10 (5404 votes) Palazzo della Pilotta is a ducal castle located in Parma. The bizarre layout of the palace is more like an ingenious labyrinth, consisting of rooms, courtyards and passages. The palazzo received its name in honor of the 'pelota' – the game that is the prototype of modern squash. Previously, in one of the courtyards, the dukes, and even their courtiers, loved to indulge in this fun. Today, the palace houses the Farnese Theater, which is the pride of all Italy, the National Archaeological Museum and the National Pinakothek.
