The Basilica of Santa Maria Formosa is a church in Venice located in the square of the same name in the Castello area.
The church was erected on the site where there was an old church, in 1492. The author of the project was the architect Mauro Koducci. The architectural feature of the church is its convex cream apse and a grotesque mask located at the foot of the bell tower.
