The cathedral acquired its modern look in the 16th century. In 1588, the reconstruction of the church was started by the architect Andrea Palladio. Until the beginning of the 19th century, the cathedral remained a cathedral, until it lost its status after the cathedral was moved to the Church of San Marco Venice. Next to the basilica is the bell tower, made by Koducci. It is noteworthy that it, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, has a slight slope.
