Berlin Picture Gallery – one of the art museums in Berlin, located in the Kulturforum. Part of the State Museums of Berlin and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It houses the richest collection of paintings created by such eminent masters as Titian, Rembrandt, Raphael, Rubens, Bosch, Botticelli, Albrecht Durer, Lucas Cranach, Peter Paul, Caravaggio and Bruegel. The gallery was opened in 1830.

After reconstruction in 1998, the gallery, together with its collection, moved to Kulturforum, in a specially built building. The project by Heinz Hilmer, Thomas Albrecht and Christoph Sattler envisaged the incorporation of the villa of Paul Parey, the publisher, into the architectural complex. The rectangular building with a forward-facing northern facade has features of the Italian Renaissance and Prussian classicism. Undoubtedly, the central part of the building attracts attention, where under a flat vault and 32 glass domes there are columns rising in two rows. There is also a fountain here.

Around the foyer, on two floors, there are 72 exhibition halls. They are illuminated with natural light. The total area of exhibition halls – 7 thousand sq. m. On their walls, usually there are about 900 canvases. In the basement where the Sketch Gallery is located about 400 more paintings are exhibited. The entire collection of the gallery includes more than 3500 paintings, of which 2900 – the property of the gallery, and about 300 original frames. All exhibits are divided into ten sections: German painting of the XIII — XVI   centuries and XVII — XVIII   centuries, Dutch painting of the XIV — XVI   centuries, Flemish painting of the XVII   century, Dutch painting of the XVII   century, Italian painting of the XIII — XVI   centuries. and XVII — XVIII   centuries, Spanish painting of the XV — XVIII   centuries, French painting of the XV — XVIII   centuries, English painting of the XVIII   century.
In addition, the Berlin Picture Gallery manages a number of collections, including the Museum Fund Kaiser Friedrich, the Streit Foundation, the collections of the Federal Republic of Germany, the State Library, the State Museums of the Prussian Heritage Foundation and some others.
