Currently, the Palazzo Riso houses the Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily. The palace is located on Via Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

The plan of the palace was designed at the end of the 18th century by Giuseppe Venanzio Marvuglia for Belmonte Giuseppe Emanuele Ventimiglia. The construction of the building was completed in 1784. The building was originally built in the Sicilian Baroque style, but later, during the renovations, it acquired the neoclassical style.

In the 19th century, the palace was bought by Baron Rizo. In the same period, neoclassical sculptures were installed on the main balcony, and on the entrance portal - – marble family coats of arms of the Rizo family.

During the Second World War, part of the palace was seriously damaged – the frescoes by Antonio Manno were destroyed. After the war, the palace was abandoned for a long time, and only in the 90s large-scale restoration work was carried out in the building. Since 2008, the palace has housed the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Currently, the museum exhibits works by local artists – Alessandro Bazana, Domenico Mangano, Giovanni Anselmo, Croce Taravella, Andrea di Marco, Carla Accardi, Salvo, Paolo Pivi and others. There is also a cafeteria and a library in the museum. Expansion of the exhibition area is planned in the future.
