Photo and description

Mogilev Zoo is perhaps the youngest and most unusual of all zoos in the Republic of Belarus. It was created in 2004 on the basis of the Mogilev Agrotechnical College, where future rangers and foresters are trained. The zoo was opened on May 9, 2005. The zoo is located in the Buinichi village of the Mogilev region.

The Mogilev zoo is unusual in its approach to the planning of the territory. Aviaries and cages with animals are freely located on a large area (124 hectares) along the Dnieper River. On its territory, two routes are specially laid: pedestrian and railway. The walking route is replete with suspension bridges, viewing platforms, forest paths, along which enclosures with animals are located. This layout allows visitors to observe the animals in their natural habitat.

The length of the railway route is 2 kilometers. The railway opened in 2009. A bright trailer and toy cars will take their passengers on a bison safari. The kings of the Belarusian forests - bison, as well as sika deer and European fallow deer - roam freely along the railway. Here they live freely - no one locks them up and does not limit their freedom. Visitors to the zoo can admire these rare shy animals that are not at all afraid of people in the zoo. The railway follows the trail of a prehistoric glacier that teems with deep canyons. Some bridges pass over these relict canyons, sometimes at a decent height. But do not worry - the safety of passengers is thought out to the smallest detail.

The owners of the zoo did not forget about the comfort for visitors. On the territory there are many picturesque corners with benches and gazebos where you can sit and relax. There are also many small cozy cafes where you can have a snack or coffee. For children, ice cream and sweets will be offered here.
