Banias National Park is located at the foot of Mount Hermon, in the northern part of Israel. The park got its name in honor of the god Pan, who was the patron saint of the elements.

One of the main natural attractions of the park is a picturesque waterfall, reaching a height of 10 meters. Following downstream from the waterfall, you can find a cave in which there is a statue of the Greek god Pan.

The first central entrance to the park is located at the main Cave of the park, the second – not far from the waterfall. At the entrance, each tourist is given an overview brochure, which describes detailed information about each object of the park.

It is worth visiting the Rock Garden located near the cave of the god Pan. If you look closely, you can see that instead of stones in the garden, fragments of ancient architectural structures are used.

On the numerous hiking trails in the park, you can walk to the old mill, from which you can get to the ruins of the ancient city. Scientists believe that it was here that the palace of Agripa II was located, which at one time had the status of one of the majestic buildings of Israel.

Banias Park will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of wildlife. Today, more than a hundred varieties of plants and trees grow here, and among the ruins you can often find flocks of hyraxes living in the park.
