Erawan National Park in Thailand, Kanchanaburi Resort
Rating: 8,0/10 (145 votes)  The area of this national park & ndash; 550 sq. kilometers. It was founded in 1975. The park is famous for its fertile valleys and virgin forests. Most of the park is occupied by mountains. In the east, some peaks reach 1000 meters in height. These mountains serve as a natural barrier against the raining monsoons. Therefore, there is not a lot of precipitation in the park. The best time to visit the park is in the cool period, which lasts from early November to January. The most famous attraction of the park is – this is Erawan waterfall. This seven-tiered waterfall begins in the eastern mountains. Its height is 831 meters, and its length is – 1700 meters. Around the waterfall, a large number of plants and animals live. For the convenience of tourists, a special trail has been laid next to the waterfall. You cannot come here with drinks and food. Another waterfall begins in the west – Khao Phang. In the park you can see such animals as tiger, Indian elephant, zebra, wild boar, gibbon, chamois, pheasant, deer, peacock, flying squirrel, cobra, python and many others ... The reservoirs are home to a large number of fish, insects and crabs. The park has several picturesque caves with rock paintings: Phartat, Van Bakhdan, Rua and Mee. For the entrance to the park have to pay. There are guest houses on the territory of Erawan where you can spend the weekend.
