The village is located in the community of the same name in the South Bohemian Region, just 15 kilometers from the town of Ceske Budejovice. The village contains many rural buildings built in the 18th - 19th centuries, which were made in the style of South Bohemian folk baroque. Since 1998, the village has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first written mention of the village Holasovice dates back to 1263. In 1291, by Wenceslas II - King of Bohemia, Holasovice was transferred to the Cistercian monastery located in Vyssy Brod. The village remained in the ownership of the monastery until 1848.
