The Church of St. Jakub, located in the town of Kutna Hora, is another religious building that has no analogues.

The construction of the church was carried out in the 12th century in the Romanesque style ... In 1165, Emperor Vladislav and Empress Judita were personally present at the solemn lighting of the cathedral by the Prague bishop Daniel, which is reliably confirmed by documents discovered in 1846 during the restoration of the building. The documents were kept in a casket - a reliquary, certified with the bishop's wax seal.

This historical monument is unique, first of all, for its plastic decor, which adorns the southern wall of the facade. The church presents to the attention of the visitors the most extensive collection of Romanesque sculptures preserved in the Czech Republic. According to scientists, the sculpture contains the most ancient images of Czech zemstvo patrons.

Many sculptors took part in the creation of the plastic collection that adorns the cathedral. The influence of Saxon and French sculpture, which was mediated by the Selec Cistercians under the guidance of a court master, is not excluded. The entire collection, with the exception of the tympanum decor, was created in the middle of the 12th century.
