The plague pillar, located in the town of Kutna Hora, was made by a Jesuit sculptor between 1713-1715. The pillar was created in honor of the end of the plague epidemic, during which more than 1000 people died. The monument is traditionally crowned with a statue of the Virgin Mary the Immaculate.
