The ruins of the Sipar Fort are located on a small peninsula 4 kilometers from the city of Umag. At low tide, you can see the cape, which reaches 200 meters in length and about 50 meters in width. The pile of stones on the promontory is the ruins of the ancient fort of Sipar.
Many finds discovered during archaeological excavations indicate that during the Roman Empire a city stood on this territory. It did not last long, as in 876 it was destroyed by pirates and was no longer rebuilt.
