The Stone of Reconciliation is a memorial sign that was opened in Sevastopol in 1994, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the end of the Crimean War. The monument was erected on the site where the fourth English redoubt was once located.

The Crimean War lasted three years - from 1853 to 1856. The main military actions took place in Sevastopol, then the Russian army was opposed by a powerful coalition - England, France, Turkey, the Sardinian kingdom. Monument "Stone of Reconciliation" is a kind of symbol of unity of peoples, as well as the heroic defense of Sevastopol by ordinary citizens and sailors for 369 days.

The monument "Stone of Reconciliation" was erected by order of the President of Ukraine - Leonid Kuchma. The cousin of Queen Elizabeth II of England was invited to its opening with his wife - the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Russian ambassador to Ukraine - Leonid Smolyakov, France - Michel Yves Passic, Italy - Vitorio Surdo, Turkey - Adjara Germen, England - S. Jimens.
