The Turkish war memorial located in the city of Sevastopol, in the upper reaches of the Kilen-balka, was erected in 2004 in honor of the Turkish soldiers who died during the Crimean War (1853-1854). During that war, the Turkish troops suffered significant losses. According to various statistics, between 24 thousand and 40 thousand Turkish officers and soldiers died. During the siege of the city in 1854-1855. the burials of Turkish soldiers who died and died from wounds and diseases were made not far from the quarters of the Turkish troops, including at the head of the Dock Ravine. With the end of the war, the Turkish cemetery, left unattended, was abandoned and after a while was completely lost.

Thanks to the persistent efforts of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine, Mr. Cankorel, a Turkish monument was erected in Sevastopol in memory of the fallen soldiers. The author of the monument was the architect Yu.P. Oleinik. The opening of the memorial took place as part of the events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Crimean War. The opening was attended by a Turkish government delegation headed by the commander of the Turkish Navy, Admiral O. Ornek.

The Turkish War Memorial is a fenced-in piece of land with a monument in the center. There is a Turkish collective necropolis near the monument. In the middle of the green lawn, a stylobate was built in the form of a stone granite fence with chains on posts and two white marble pylons brought from Turkey. There is a monument in the very center, which is a truncated pyramid faced with white marble, which stands on a gabbro base. The obelisk ends with national symbols in the form of a five-pointed star and a crescent. The total height of the Turkish monument is 7.8 meters.
