A small village Aflenz-Kurort with an area of 16.09 km2. located in Styria. Nowadays, a little more than a thousand people permanently live in it. The ancient town, founded before 1025, when it was first written about in the local chronicle, no longer belongs only to local residents. At the end of the 19th century, fans of active summer holidays and hiking learned about Aflenz. Aflenz Resort is located on the southern slope of the Hochschwab mountain range. The village is protected from strong winds, therefore it is famous for its even, pleasant climate. Already in 1920 Aflentz was declared a health resort, and in 1979 he received the title of "Medical climatic resort". There are several rehabilitation centers in the town. Nowadays Aflenz Resort is not empty even in winter. Admirers of alpine skiing come here. In 1954, the first ski lift to the nearest mountain Burgeralm was built.

There are few architectural sights in Aflenz-Resort. These include the Carner, a burial chapel in the form of a rotunda with a domed roof, erected in the late Gothic style in 1517. A lantern is installed above the dome. In the carnera, you can see the altar of St. Michael, dating from the third quarter of the 17th century.

There is another sacred building in Aflenz - a parish church consecrated in honor of St. Peter. The current building of the temple appeared in the village in the late 15th - early 16th centuries. The powerful three-story tower was being completed several years after the church was consecrated. There is a cemetery with a war memorial near St. Peter's Church.

Numerous tourists who come to Aflenz Kurort love to walk in the Kurortny Park. Its attraction is an open wooden gazebo, where wedding ceremonies are often held.
