Jomas Street is the main street of Jurmala and one of the oldest streets of the Riga seaside. Majori railway station is located on one side of the street, and the Jurmala globe closes it. Jomas Street was founded at the end of the 19th century. Over the years of its existence, it has endured all kinds of transformations and changes. In the 60-70s of the XIX century, the division of land areas began for the first time. And at the same time, the main streets in Majori began to emerge. Around 1850, there was an impenetrable damp forest near the existing streets of Jomas, Juras and Lienes. Local peasants grazed cattle near it. Jomas Street originated in the distant past behind the square of Majori station. It was at the current intersection of Lienes and Jomas.
