Gallery Art Rezidence "Inner light" - the theater of glowing paintings by Vitaly Ermolaev is a unique tourist attraction in Jurmala. This is one of the most interesting and memorable sights of this city. It is located in the artist's own house in Jurmala.

Vitaly Ermolaev is from Kazan. Studied at the Kazan Art School. In 1973 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad, and in 1983 he completed a design course at the Latvian Academy of Arts. In 1973, Ermolaev came to Riga. He began to live and work here. He moved to Jurmala in 2004. At the present time he continues to work as an artist, designer and architect.
The composition of paints and the procedure for their preparation, invented by Vitaly Ermolaev, is patented.

In the period from 1998 to 2004 in Riga in the "Rezidence RP" a permanent exhibition of light painting by Vitaly Ermolaev was exhibited. For the first time his paintings, made in the unique Inner light style, were presented to the public in 2000 at the Radisson SAS Daugava-Templis art gallery. In 2002, visitors saw the light painting in Moscow, and a year later unique paintings were exhibited in Paris and in Riga (in the House of Blackheads). In 2004, residents of Germany were able to enjoy the artist's work. The exhibition was organized at the Schloss Horst castle. In 2005-2006, in the City Museum in Jurmala and in the House of Artists in Riga, visitors saw glowing paintings.

Vitaly Ermolaev organized 23 solo exhibitions and took part in more than 40 exhibitions in Latvia and abroad.

A distinctive feature of Vitaly Ermolaev's work is a unique technique. The artist called it "Inner light", which means "inner light". His work is dedicated to the themes "Earth", "Space", "Soul". They seem to take visitors to the stars, helping to reveal the secrets of their hearts and souls, without leaving our amazing planet Earth.

With special lighting, the effect of volume appears and it seems that from under the upper the image begins to appear before this invisible picture. In his work, the artist successfully combines reflective paints and the ancient technology of wax painting, which is more than 2000 years old.

Ermolaev's paintings are presented to visitors in 2 versions: "daytime" and "nighttime". Sometimes they are very similar, and sometimes they are very different from each other. It depends on the idea of the artist. The transformation of the "day" version into the "night" one can be gradual. Some images disappear, while others appear. Vitaly Ermolaev's work is filled with romantic mood. In his works, he seems to draw a thread from consciousness to subconsciousness. The artist's paintings are based on the idea of the presence of unlimited vital force as energy, represented in absolutely all facets of life. This energy is possessed by pictures from which a special light emanates.
