Fantasylandia is one of the largest amusement parks in Latin America with an area of 8 hectares, located in the center of Santiago. It was opened in 1978 in the green area of O'Higgins Park. The entrance to the park is opposite the Movistar Arena.

Fantasylandia Park is also known for its modern attractions, as it became the first theme park in South America with a 360-degree Galaxy roller coaster, as well as the only Boomerang slide in South America.

Fantasylandia amusement park is the embodiment of the idea of Gerardo Artega, who in the late 70s conceived to create a space of fun, entertainment and relaxation in the center of the capital of Chile. In 1977, the mayor of Santiago, Patricio Mekis, signed a project to create a "Chilean Disneyland" in a part of O'Higgins Park with a lease of land for 50 years, subject to the preservation of all types of trees in the park.

Since the beginning of 1978, the amusement park began its work with eight classic attractions : Octopus carousel, Galactica roller coaster, Evil Mansion horror room, children's carousels, Ford T ride. Over time, fabulous and extreme rides such as Xtreme Fall, Top Spin, Raptor and Boomerang slide were added.

At the end of 2007, a new Tsunami ride was opened in the park, replacing the classic Splash. This enhanced version of the “splash” consists of a huge single dip that creates a large wave and is offered for family entertainment. because throughout its history there have been only two incidents, one of which was related to health problems of a visitor and ended tragically. The second incident occurred due to a malfunction of the attraction, but without tragic consequences. As a result, the Ministry of Health ordered the closure of the attraction and introduced stricter security checks on all other attractions in the park.
