Photo and description

Yuyuan Garden is considered to be an amazing place in Shanghai. Translated from Chinese, the name of the garden is translated as "joy" or "relaxation". Indeed, this place is a corner of relaxation and joy in the midst of a huge modern metropolis with its traffic jams and rapid pace of life.

Yuyuan Garden has existed for over 400 years. It was built during the reign of the Ming dynasty in 1559. The founder of the garden was Pan Yunduan, who spent almost all of his savings on the construction. But after his death, no one looked after the garden, and he quickly fell into decay. Finally, in 1956, the local city authorities decided to restore the garden, and they managed to bring this place almost to its original form.

Yuyuan amazes with the number of architectural structures: gazebos, bridges, arches, terraces. And none of them are alike. The area of the park, which is just over 2 hectares of land, is divided into 6 parts. All parts are connected by passages and galleries, which are not performed randomly, but according to all the rules of feng shui for the correct direction of the movement of qi energy.

Tourists can visit the ancient Huxintin tea house here. A stone bridge with 10 sharp turns, which was created so that evil spirits could not get into the building, serves as a transition to it. There is also a huge stone dragon with a toad near its mouth in the garden.

Next to the garden, there is a large shopping area where you can buy anything you want. The main thing is not to get lost.
