This garden is located in the south of Shanghai, in one of its old districts. It is one of the most famous parks in the whole world. In 1982, the park was included in the list of monuments protected by the state.

The park was laid out in the 16th century, during the Ming dynasty. This was ordered by Pan Yunduan, who later donated the park to his father, court minister Pan Enu.

The park was built for 18 years, from 1559 to 1577. Its area is 4 hectares. In the 19th century, it was almost completely destroyed by British colonial troops. Today's garden is the result of careful restoration in 1956.

Garden   divided into 6 different parts. In the park you can see artificial hills, ponds in which goldfish swim, rare plants, as well as stone structures of various shapes and sizes. One of the oldest trees in the world is located on the territory of the park - Magnolia, which is already 5 centuries old.

The most picturesque parts of the park, which convey the spirit of medieval China, are the promenade gallery, “Hall of Ten Thousand flowers ”, hall“ Yuhua ”and a book office. In the galleries and halls of the garden, you can see rare examples of calligraphy and Chinese painting, porcelain dishes and antique furniture.

The only drawback of the park is its popularity - on weekdays there are up to 200 thousand visitors, and more on weekends.
