The Dresden Palace Church was built in 1738-55 by the Italian architect Cayetano Chiaveri, it was given the status of a cathedral in 1980. After the devastating bombing of the allied forces in 1945, everything internally the decoration of the church was burned out, the vault collapsed. At the end of the war, the church was completely restored.

The appearance of the cathedral is impressive: numerous balustrades and niches are decorated with 78 stone figures. The interior decoration is also very beautiful. The rococo pulpit, organ, altar decorations deserve attention. The cathedral has four crypts with 49 sarcophagi, and the heart of “August the Strong” is also buried here (his body rests in Krakow). In addition, since 1709, a choir of boys has existed at the Dresden court church, often touring around the world.
