In the center of the city district of Toolo there is a unique church in the rock. Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen built it in 1969. The inner volume of the temple was carved into the rock. The glass and copper dome rests on rock walls. The inner surface of the dome is made of copper plates arranged in a spiral, which creates the illusion of a very high vault, although the distance from the floor to the top point is 12 meters. The premises of the church have excellent acoustics. It hosts concerts of organ and violin music.
