Monument to the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin is one of the most visited monuments in the city of Yekaterinburg. The monument is located not far from the drama theater, near the Yeltsin Presidential Center. The opening of the monument to the Soviet party and Russian statesman took place on the day of B.N. Yeltsin - February 1, 2001

The monument consists of three blocks, each weighing 15 tons. The monument was made in the form of a stele-obelisk of white marble, on which the features of B. Yeltsin are visible. The total height of the monument is 10 m. The author of this work was the architect Georgy Frangulyan, who also made a tombstone on the grave of Boris Nikolaevich.

The grand opening of the monument was attended by the then President of Russia - D. Medvedev, representatives of the federal government, B. Yeltsin's widow, his relatives and friends, the head of the Sverdlovsk region - A. Misharin, as well as leaders of neighboring regions and, of course, residents of the city.

Boris Yeltsin was born on February 1, 1931 in the village of Butka, Talitsky district of the Sverdlovsk region. One of the founders of post-Soviet Russia studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Ural State Technical University (USTU-UPI). For a long time, Yeltsin lived in Yekaterinburg, where he built his career. In June 1991, he became the first president of Russia, holding this post until the end of 1999. On April 23, 2007, Boris Yeltsin died.

One of the city's central streets was named after this statesman, in addition, his name was also given to the Ural State Technical University.

Today, a ten-meter obelisk of B.N., erected on a dark gray pedestal. Yeltsin is one of the most visited attractions of the city of Yekaterinburg.
