The Berlin hut is an alpine tourist center located in the Tyrolean Alps at an altitude of 2042 meters above sea level, next to the famous ski resort of Mayrhofen. The Berlin Hut is a place to relax and eat while in the mountains. It offers rooms for tourists who wish to stay for a few days for hiking or skiing. You can get to the Berlin hut on foot from Mayrhofen. The road passing through Semmgrund and Gravandhutte cottage takes 3 hours.

The Berlin hut is so named because it was built with the participation of the German and Austrian Alpine Club. It is the oldest and most famous alpine refuge in the Ziller Valley, also known as the "part of Berlin in the Alps". Thanks to walking paths and similar cottages built in various parts of the mountains by the Alpine Club, it became possible to say that at the end of the 19th century, the infrastructure for tourists that still exists here was created. It was the representatives of this club that laid the foundation for the development of tourism in the region.

Until 2013, the Berlin hut was the only alpine complex that received the status of a national monument. This was due to the uniqueness of the structure, which is evidence of the period when the German Empire and its capital were remembered everywhere, even in the high Alps. The original Berlin hut was built in 1879. Subsequently, the building was transformed several times and after several extensions it turned into a multi-storey cottage with outbuildings. In 1899, a telephone and a telegraph were installed in the remote alpine complex, and in 1912 electricity was also installed. 2004 marked the 125th anniversary of this building, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and alpine meadows.
